Lidlington lost their unbeaten record and slip to second in Division Six after a 33-run defeat to Buckland & Aston Clinton II.

Lidlington bowled first and reduced Buckland to 80 for six, with some fine bowling from Jake Hiscocks (3-20) and Nadeem Ahmed (3-32).

However, a gutsy stand of 60 between J Wood (37) and S Woodland (45) saw Buckland reach 163 all out.

Needing just three runs an over to claim the victory, Lidlington lost early wickets and were reduced to 58-6, with some poor shots against a tight bowling attack.

Lidlington clawed their way back into the match with a stand of 61 for the seventh wicket between John Richardson (37) and Hamyun Shahid (33 not out), but were eventually undone by M Buchorski (3- 1) and J Buchorski (4 for 14).

Title-chasing Lidlington will be looking for a swift return at the weekend when they face Stoke Hammond CC II at home on Saturday afternoon.
The game gets under way at 1.30pm.
