Team Beds see off Royston

The best of the week's netball action

Team Beds secured a 37-26 victory in their latest East of England Division Two clash with Royston.

With three new starters in the line-up, Beds were on a par with Royston who edged the first quarter by a narrow 8-7 margin.

Beds upped their performance in the second period and sneaked in front to take a 17-16 advantage into the second half.

With the tantalising prospect of a second straight win in sight, Beds dominated the third quarter to the extent of 8-3 which put them firmly in control.

The fourth period was also won by Beds, 12-7, which enabled them to ease to victory.

Ten players, including Helen Sears who was the player of the match, got some court time during the victory which bodes well for their next outing which is against Peterborough One Rail.

The encounter takes place at Alexander Sports Hall in Bedford this Saturday and gets under way at 2pm.

Earlier in the day, Bedfordshire side Wyvern got the better of Comberton 65-25 to stay in the hunt at the top of Division One.
