Held on Eton Dorney’s famous Olympic course Star Club’s rowers compete in the one-off Diamond Jubilee Rowing Championships last weekend as a number of Great Britain’s Olympians returned to domestic action.

On the Saturday, Star’s men’s coxless four of Alex Miller, Lloyd Mulkerrins, Leon Taylor and Will Eason finished eighth overall in the initial time-trial to be placed in the A/B semi-finals.

After a tight race they finished a close third behind Cambridge University and overlapping with Molesey BC beating, amongst others, Oxford Brookes University containing an U23 world champion and an Olympic silver medallist.

The result moved the crew up the overall rankings to sixth and into the A final where they lined up against two Cambridge boats along with those from Leander Molesey and Newcastle University.

Star started better than in their semi but finished a fine sixth against quality opposition.
