NETBALL: Sharnbrook Upper School’s U18 netball team performed fantastically as they finished runners-up at the East Region Schools last weekend.

Their fine showing at Hassenbrook School means they have now qualified for the National Schools final in Basildon on March 17.

The squad was Charlotte Sullivan, Dee Stigwood, Emily Fensome, Phoebe Reid, Noelle Wolvaardt, Danni Wolvaardt, Jasmine Whitlock, Pamela Ghag and Amy Bishop.

The team gave a fine display, but Whitlock and Reid were the standout performers on the day.

They beat Greshams 14-4, defeated Culford 9-6, thrashed Perse 18-3, saw off Bishop’s Stortford 14-5, lost narrowly to Palmers 11-10 and drew 11-11 with Brentwood.

Sharnbrook progressed as section runners up on goal average and beat the winners of the other group, Thurston, 11-8 in the semi-finals before losing 11-6 to Seevic in the final.
