Bedford Swifts RFC have confirmed the appointment of Josh Buggea as the club’s new Head Coach for the upcoming season.

Buggea, a current Bedford Blues player and level 2 RFU coach, is looking to bring in experience gained from training and playing with Premiership outfit Worcester - prior to his arrival at Bedford - as well as England U18s.

After gaining experience at Bedford School as a youth coach he is keen to bring success back to Bedford Swifts in the 2016/17 season and beyond, seeing the main aims of the club as settling a consistent player base as well as growing the enjoyment and social side the club is famed for.

Buggea said: “I want people to enjoy their rugby at Bedford Swifts.

“I’m a firm believer in consistency and enjoyment being key to a successful club”

Recently voted as the Bedford Blues Players Player of the Year, Buggea is keen to get the season started.

He has already made his first decision within minutes of his appointment at the club who finished seventh in Midlands Four East South last term, setting the date for pre-season training to begin on Wednesday, July 6.
