Preview: Blues looking to bounce back against Plymouth Albion

Bedford Blues will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend when Plymouth Albion make the trip to Goldington Road to face Mike Rayer’s men on Saturday afternoon.

After a disappointing defeat at the hands of high-flying London Scottish, the Blues know that a resurgent Plymouth Albion – who picked up an impressive home win over Rotherham Titans last weekend – will be looking to continue their recent run of good form.

When the two teams last met at Brickfields back in September, it was Bedford who proved victorious, cementing their first Greene King IPA Championship win of the season, as a last minute bonus point try saw the Blues seal the 31-22 win.

Bedford will be hoping for a similar outcome this weekend and will be going all out with a first class home performance to ensure their hopes of a top four finish are kept alive.

An injury to Dean Adamson during the Blues defeat to London Scottish sees Rayer give a debut to new signing Baden Kerr at fullback while James Pritchard moves to the wing and Darryl Veenendaal starts at scrum half. Prop Billy Moss has recovered from injury and starts at loosehead in a new front row which also features TJ Harris and Phil Boulton while Mike Howard comes into the second row and captain Nick Fenton-Wells starts at seven.
