Bedford Blues return to Goldington Road this weekend for only their second home game of the Championship campaign and they’ll be looking to continue the attacking intent they’ve showed so far this season.

After two tough road trips to London Scottish and London Welsh, the Blues are excited to back at home facing a Nottingham side that registered their first win last weekend, with kick-off at 3pm.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s encounter, Blues assistant coach Ben Gulliver said: “I think it is fair to say that we’ve had a difficult start to the season with three very tough away fixtures and a challenging home encounter against Moseley.

“We’ve picked up 11 points in the process which is great but arguably it could have been more. As a group we are always looking forward to our next challenge and Nottingham will provide that on Saturday, no doubt. The lads are definitely motivated for this one and it should be a great game.”

Minor injuries to several players sees Bedford make a number of changes to the team that ran London Welsh close last weekend with Steffan Jones, Ollie Dodge, Sam Blanchet, Jake Sharp and Henry Taylor starting in the backs while Phil Boulton, Mark Flanagan and Hayden Thompson-Stringer start upfront.
