Bedford Blues are looking to bounce straight back from their Championship defeat at Cornish Pirates when they welcome Doncaster Knights to Goldington Road on Friday evening in the British & Irish Cup.

Bedford still have an outside chance of qualifying for the second round of the British & Irish Cup and they would need a convincing win over the unbeaten Knights to boost that possibility.

The Blues welcome Saracens winger Mike Ellery into the starting line-up while prop Johnny Harris joins on loan from London Irish and takes a place on the bench.

Following an impressive debut against Yorkshire Carnegie, Nils Mordt is named at fly half while James Pritchard returns from international duty with Canada to take his place at fullback and Henry Staff takes the outside centre spot.

In the pack Tom Williams, TJ Harris, Harry Wells and Hayden Thompson-Stringer all start while Paul Tupai captains the team once again.
