Narrow victory for Happy K’s

Rugby: Kempston Rugby resumed their fierce local rivalry with Bedford Swifts as they beat their second team 15-13 in a friendly at the weekend.

Played in appalling conditions the two packs battled hard for possession and field position, while both back lines produced some impressive attacking rugby.

In the end two tries by Kempston captain Paul Foster and flanker Ed Hutchinson, together with a conversion and a superb long-distance penalty from Lewis Perrin, saw Kempston edge to a narrow victory. This week Kempston are again in the pool seeking a fixture.
