Rugby: Kempston Rugby ran in 12 tries to thrash Rushden & Higham IIIs 70-0 in a friendly at home on Saturday.

Despite missing a number of players through injury Kempston’s pack were able to produce good ball that enabled their half-backs to throw the ball around and involve all 15 players.

Paul Foster and Sebastian Saunders claimed hat-tricks, Dan Hawking touched down twice and there were tries for Dom Rose, Terry Stokes, Ian Course and man of the match full-back Cieran Murphy, with Tom Trinder converting five.

This weekend Kempston take on Bedford Queens IIs at Putnoe Woods in the Waggledance League.
