Blues: Loosehead Newcastle Falcons prop Jonny Golding is relishing their top-of-the-table clash against Bedford Blues at Goldington Road on Saturday.
Flacons remain undefeated following Friday’s 33-0 home win over Rotherham and Golding can’t wait, although he is anticipating a tough game.
He said: “It is the clash of the top two teams and a lot of people will have circled this one on the diary a few weeks ago I am sure.
“Bedford are a fantastic side and have put a lot of points on the teams they have played.
“It is a big week for us and it will be a hard game to call down there. We are confident in what we do, though, and we are not going to change anything against them.
“We are going to go down there, apply ourselves and do what we do well.
“It will be a tough game, but these are the weekends as players that you look forward to. We will get into our opposition analysis more as the week goes on, but we have seen a bit of Bedford already.
“You have to do your homework at this level, but for us it is largely about what we can bring to the table and then letting them worry about us rather than making wholesale change to our own game because of the other team.”
>> Bedford Blues’ Academy game at Northampton Saints this weekend was cancelled.
They were last night due to play Eastern Counties U20s at Cambridge.
