BLUES: Karl Dickson of Harlequins is set to join up with England at Pennyhill Park today (Monday) to prepare for Saturday’s RBS Six Nations match against Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The former Bedford Blues scrum-half comes in as injury cover from the England Saxons Elite Player Squad for younger brother Lee, who fractured a metacarpal in his left hand during Saturday’s Calcutta Cup win over Scotland and saw a specialist on Sunday.

It is Karl’s first call up to the senior squad, where he joins fellow former Blues Mouritz Botha (Saracens) and Dan Cole (Leicester Tigers) in the squad to face the Azzurri.
