BLUES: A trio of former Bedford Blues helped England battle back to claim a 19-15 Six Nations victory over Italy in Rome on Saturday.
Owen Farrell kicked four penalties and a conversion, while Dan Cole and Mouritz Botha played key roles in the pack.
Despite hailing from South Africa, Botha, 30, revealed he is hugely proud to wear the red rose after impressing on his Six Nations debut against Scotland at Murrayfield the week before.
The former Blues and Bedford Athletic star said: “I am massively proud to wear the white shirt.
“I have lived here for nearly eight years, and intend to live here for the rest of my life. I’ve embraced the culture and England is my home now.
“When we sang God Save the Queen and they sang Flower of Scotland I just closed my eyes and took in the occasion. With 70,000 Scots singing it made the hairs on your back stand up.”
