BLUES: Investabroad Properties National Colts Cup holders Bedford Blues will have a bye to this season’s quarter-finals if they can win their delayed fourth round tie at Hereford.
Bedford are attempting to win the competition for the fifth time in six seasons and will not need to play in the fifth round if they overcome Hereford in a tie that has been delayed by bad weather.
Due to a lower entry from clubs in the North there is a need to balance the numbers in the fifth round which features clubs from both the Midlands and the North.
As a consequence two clubs have been awarded byes to the quarter-finals.
The draw would them pit the Blues at Cinderford or Redruth or Shelford or Trojans in a quarter-final tie to be played on or before March 18.
