Plymouth name side to face Bedford

Canadian invasion at Goldington Road

PLYMOUTH Albion are set to include three Canadian internationals in their pack for the first time tomorrow when they travel to Bedford Blues for the opening game of the 2010/11 Championship.

Number eight Aaron Carpenter has joined Albion after impressing in the Churchill Cup this summer and he is due to line up alongside fellow countrymen lock Tyler Hotson and flanker Sean-Michael Stephen.

It will mean that both captains at Goldington Road tomorrow will be Canadian internationals, as former Albion full-back James Pritchard is the Blues' new skipper.

Albion have only lost three regular starters from last season over the closed season and chairman of rugby Graham Dawe said: "We would like to see how far this current squad can go."

Albion: 15 Mark Lee, 14 Ben Mercer, 13 Cameron Mitchell, 12 Sione Tu'ipulotu, 11 Johnny Coleman, 10 Alex Davies, 9 Ruairi Cushion, 1 George Porter, 2 Gavin O'Meara, 3 Ryan Hopkins, 4 Tom Skelding, 5 Tyler Hotson, 6 Sean-Michael Stephen (capt), 7 Rory Watts-Jones, 8 Aaron Carpenter.

Reps: Tom Kessell, Fionn McLoughlin, Steve Johns, Mark Manton, Gareth Evans, Dan Collier, Wayne Sprangle, Sam Hocking.
