Cycling: Over 100 riders of all ages and abilities took part in Beds Road Club’s annual lottery ride on the roads around Cardington on New Year’s Day.

First rider home was Jason Green, although in the lottery draw David Cook matched his time most closely to his lottery time, Rupert Gates clocked biggest additional time, Graham Dennis biggest negative time, Alison Cooper smallest positive difference and Billy Fadden smallest negative difference.

Round 10 of the British Cycling Central Cylco-Cross League returned to the motoX course at Culham Park near Abingdon.

Jan Laming came 25th in the Youth race for Beds Road Club on a tough course, which made use of several features of the motoX course.

The main race saw the Junior championship go down to the wire in a battle between Jason Pitt (AW Cycles) and Isaac Anstee (BRCC).

Pitt proved stronger on the day to take first place in the Championship with 465pts to Isaac Anstee’s 460pts.

Of the 79 finishers in the race, Green was the first club rider home in ninth place, followed by Isaac Anstee in 30th place and Mark Anstee in 37th.
