The last of the Junior European Qualifiers were played at Bedford and County Golf Club last Friday in which players from across the country were vying for the last two qualifying places.

The wet and windy conditions didn’t put a dampener on young local golfer Jack Manley as he romped home with a fabulous gross score of 75 on his home course to earn him second place and a passage through to the next round.

The final is to be held at the famous Finca Cortesin Golf Club in Estepona, Spain.

Young ace Jack is following in the footsteps of his two greatest heroes, Luke Donald and Justin Rose, who at the age of 14 – a year older than Jack – both took part in this prestigious event.

Jack is looking forward to representing his home club, Bedford and County, together with his school, Sharnbrook Upper.

The 13-year-old hot-shot will be flying the flag for England against some of the toughest European opposition in his age group.
