The unstoppable Goldington Academy U13 girls’ hockey team have been crowned county champions for the fourth year in succession.
The team scored 22 goals and conceded none in last week’s tournament held at Bedford Hockey Centre.
Goldington recorded impressive scores against all of the other schools in the competition, beating runners-up Linslade 4-0; Streetfield 5-0; Cardinal Newman 11-0; Goldington B 2-0 and drawing 0-0 against Henlow.
The girls have recently returned home from a successful hockey tour to Wales in which they played against club sides from Whitchurch HC, Abergavenney HC, Barry HC and Cardiff High School.
Their coach, Amy Camfield said: “I am very proud of both teams and how far they have come over the last 12 months. “The girls have been attending before-school hockey practices and it is great to see all of their hard work and commitment to training paying off.”
She added: “The Year 7’s are looking forward to using our
new astro so that they can start training for next season.”
