The youngest Bedford representative, seven-year-old Marco Faria, was the first on the mats and scored with an o goshi ippon to win the first gold medal of the day.
Marco’s brother Daurte, nine, achieved a bronze medal in his category.
Eight-year-old Steven Denchev soon followed with the second gold medal for the club, utilising some impressive hold downs which his opponents could not escape from.
For nine-year-old duo Adam Benson and Alex Lee, this was their first experience at a competition and both boys fought well and to gain bronze medals .
Dominik Polwojski, aged 10, was also new to competing and achieved a silver medal.
Chloe Benjamin,10, fought hard as she was the youngest in her category – the oldest was 17 – resulting in a gutsy bronze medal .
Ellis Kane, 11, won all her fights; scoring with a yuko in her first match and a wazari ippon in the next to bag another gold medal.
Nine-year-old Laura Allen also won both her fights, taking the last one with her trade mark left handed ogoshi and winning the last gold medal of the day for Bedford.
In total, the club came home with four gold, four bronze and one silver medal from the competition.
