ROWING: Bedford Modern School Year 13 students, Ed Munno and Lloyd Mulkerrins have been selected to row for Great Britain this summer.

Mulkerrins joins the GB squad for the Coupe de la Jeunesse event (European Junior Championships) in Banyoles, Spain from tomorrow (Friday, July 20) to Sunday.

Munno is part of the GB crew heading for the Junior Rowing World Championships to be held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from August 14-19. It is Munno’s second year at the Junior World Championships, having won a silver for GB in the Men’s eight in 2011, when the championship was held at Eton Dorney as the Olympic test event.

Munno was recently awarded the Udal Trophy for outstanding sporting achievement for his time at BMS which has seen him achieve five Great Britain vests.

In December 2011, Munno was named the Junior Sports Personality of the year at the Bedford Sports Awards.
