MATCH PREVIEW: Exeter Chiefs v Bedford Blues

Goodman returns but Pritchard still out

The Blues are all geared up to make the journey to Exeter tomorrow for their Championship play-off semi-final, kick-off 3pm.

Sandy Park may not have been the happiest of hunting grounds for the Blues in recent times but, buoyed by some excellent recent form, they will go into this game in a positive frame of mind.

There is one change to the team that started the 35-19 victory over Plymouth last weekend, with Chris Goodman returning from injury in place of John Harlock.

Goodman starts at number eight with Gregor Gillanders, who played in the position last week, moving back to blindside flanker and Alex Rae taking his place in the second row.

There had been some concern over fly-half Myles Dorrian, following an eye injury sustained in last weekend's fixture, but the Australian is fully fit and plays, although James Pritchard once again misses out through injury.

Ahead of the game, director of rugby Mike Rayer said: "Everyone is aware that Exeter isn't one of our most successful destinations, but it's a one-off game and anything can happen.

"One thing that we can be sure of is an explosive game. Exeter have said that they want Premiership rugby for a number of years now and it has become their holy grail.

"We know what's ahead of us and it is a significant challenge. We are aware of it, not daunted by it.

"This is the ultimate test for us as a group. If we can maintain our accuracy under pressure, then we have a chance. Whoever handles that pressure the best will, no doubt, win."

Blues: 1 Walsh, 2 Richmond (C), 3 Seal, 4 Howard, 5 Rae, 6 Gillanders, 7 Harding, 8 Goodman, 9 Chudley, 10 Dorrian, 11 Taylor, 12 Vaas, 13 Burke, 14 Dodge, 15 Fielden.

Replacements: 16 Locke, 17 Boulton, 18 Harlock, 19 Brightwell, 20 Walshe, 21 Davies, 22 Davey.
