Luton AC angling

Angling round up

There were a couple of big catches for Mark Farrell at North House Lake.

The Luton AC angler landed a common of 23lb and a 19lb mirror on s2t pinkies over s2t bottom baits.

Brett Herdman was also at North House, landing a 19lb 5oz common before moving on to Beckerings Reservoir where he tempted a 14lb common.

Both fish fell to Quest Baits Fruity Trifle Boilies.

At Woodlands Lake, which is a float only venue, a number of single-figure carp continue to be caught, and John Frost snared a nice common on a Richworth Tutti Frutti hair-rigged boilie.

As the river season came to a close Mark Simmonds fished the Ouse at Lavendon and bagged three jack pike, while Fergal O'Kane landed a 2lb-plus perch from the Ouse at Biddenham.

The last work party at North House Lake was poorly attended and, despite good weather conditions, only the Fishery Management Team made the effort, which meant a lot of the improvement works had to be postponed.

The next work party will be at Beckerings Reservoir on Saturday where the aim is to rebuild two of the platforms.

Check Luton AC's website for work party details and a registration form, or contact Dave Edwards at the club office on 01582 728114 or Joanne Edwards on 01582 603466 or 07903 048280.

Tingrith Fishery

Intrepid night anglers Adam Dudley and Ant and Vicky Capp, all of Woburn Sands, caught 16 carp at Orchid Lake at Tingrith Fishery on Saturday night.

Their catches included a 7lb mirror, a 2lb common and a lovely roach as they took advantage of the first mild night since October.

Dudley has supplied a photo of the 18lb mirror he snared.

Baits were mainly fruit boilies.

Paul Brennan of Luton, meanwhile, has supplied a picture of the carp he caught last week from Orchid.

The Fishing Club, which teaches 12-16 year-olds how to fish, starts on March 29.

Places are limited for the club which takes place around every three weeks throughout the summer.
