Bedford Blues director of rugby Mike Rayer has presented Bedfordshire-based Keech Hospice Care with a cash boost.
He handed over a cheque for £2,110 to representatives of the charity before a recent game at Goldington Road.
Mr Rayer, who is celebrating his testimonial year, said: “Keech Hospice Care is one of my chosen charities and the bulk of the money we raised came together at my testimonial dinner.
“We had another evening here where Nos cooked up a curry, which was supported by a few of the players and supporters of the club where we also added to the total.
“The lads also did the Santa run before Christmas and hopefully we’ll have one or two more events where we can raise a bit more money and more profile for Keech.
“It’s a local charity that does outstanding work without question, the more money we can raise for it the better.”
