Luton District & South Beds League round-up

The Luton District & South Beds League had a representative guaranteed in he last four of the Beds FA Intermediate Cup with Lewsey Park and St Joseph's clashing in the quarter-finals.

After a hard fought battle it was Lewsey who progressed with a 4-2 extra-time triumph.

Their goals came from Gary Jones, Karl Rogers' brace and a bullet header from Rory Bryant.

The first semi-final of the LD Champions League saw Offley Social overcome Stopsley Common 4-3.

On target for Offley were Shaun Fahy, Mark Doran, Ryan Fazal and Nathan Blankley, while Leon Simpson and Jason Penman (2) replied for Stopsley.

Christians In Sport strengthened their lead at the top of the Premier Division with a 3-0 win over Caddington Reserves.

Ewe & Lamb were easy 5-0 victors over Stopsley Park IIs 5-0 thanks to a Kevin Palmer hat-trick and goals from Carl Swendell and Chris Townsend.

Luton Leagrave were also in fine goalscoring form as they thrashed USL Galactico's 6-1, with Paul Taylor hitting a hat-trick, Ian Grayson bagging a brace and Delwin Bent netting the other. Peter Wilson scored USL's consolation.

In Division One, Real F&E overcame St Joseph's IIs 4-3 to remain at the top of the table with Nathan Miller scoring twice and Ben Harris netting once, plus an own goal.

Real were helped when rivals for the title Christians In Sport IIs could only draw against 61FC IIIs, Dan Morris getting both goals for Christians.

Farley Boys may still have something to say about the title at the end of the season as they are climbed further up the table with a 4-1 win against Co-Op Sports.

In the final game of the day, LB Galaxy were too strong for Square FC and triumphed 3-1 with goals from Ross Adams, Daniel Bridges and Adam May. Andy Clarke replied for Square.
