Hunt a doubt for Titans

Bester plays his cards close to his chest

Andre Bester will make a late call on Brad Hunt's fitness before finalising the Rotherham Titans team to face Bedford at Clifton Lane on Sunday, kick off 2pm.

Hunt has a hamstring strain but hopes to prove his fitness although Tyle Stimpson and William Durrant are on standby to come into a matchday squad that will be otherwise unchanged.

Bester won't make wholesale changes to the starting line-up but has hinted that some players may be promoted to the starting line-up having begun the Bristol match on the bench.

"Squad rotation is on the way soon but it's important that there is some continuity as we lay the foundations for our season," he said.

"It's a case of horses for courses but everyone in the squad is adding value and I'll choose the personnel that are most suited to our game plan, the opposition and the conditions.

"We are very fortunate to have a group of players that want to go somewhere and every game counts."

Bester employed a front row rotation policy during his previous tenure at Clifton Lane but is keen to keep his cards close to his chest as he plots the best method of achieving beginning the season with successive victories.

Bedford will arrive in confident mood having ripped Plymouth apart in their opening game.

Titans Club captain Joe Bedford should retain his place at scrum-half with as many as 13 players set to make their Clifton Lane debuts.

Rotherham squad to face Bedford: Richard Welding, Pete Swatkins, Jonny Hepworth, Henry Paul, Juan Pablo Socino, Brad Hunt, Nick Buckley, Cliffie Hodgson, Joe Bedford, Matt Rhodes, Anton O'Donnell, Colin Quigley, David McGregor, Sam Dickinson, Louis McGowan, Neil Spence, Nico Steenkamp, Alex Loney, Rob O'Donnell, Ben Harris, James Sandford, Ryan Burrows, Dan Baines, Adam Kettle, Tyle Stimpson, William Durrant.
