Howarth takes the reins

Eagles sign five as season approaches

Bedford Town have moved quickly to fill the hole left by the departure of Stuart Bimson by appointing Lee Howarth as their new manager.

Howarth, who was Bimson's assistnat at the New Eyrie, will take control with immediate effect.

The club's Football Management Committee said: "We all look forward to working with Lee and getting the most out of his obvious passion for Bedford."

The Eagles have also announced that they have signed five players for the upcoming season.

Midfielders Colm Kierans, Craig Daniel and Martin Flannigan, defender Stuart Wall and utility left-sider Scott Priestnall have all put pen to paper and will boost a squad that was thin on numbers.
