Houghton Ladies are runners-up twice over

After a successful season in the Luton & District Ladies Triples League where they only lost two out of 12 league and knockout competition matches Houghton Regis Ladies' season came to a disappointing conclusion when they went down in both their final matches.
This resulted in them finishing runners-up in both the knockout tournament and the Second Division and, to rub salt in the wound, it was the same team which inflicted both the defeats.
