Hayday grabs seven as Campton go goal crazy
Heavy frost sees several games postponed

WITH table-topping Blunham's game at Westoning Recreation Club postponed and the same fate befalling second-placed Ickwell & Old Warden's game at Wilshamstead suffering the same fate, the third and fourth placed side took full advantage.
Caldecote inflicted a ninth consecutive defeat on third from bottom Dunton with a 4-3 victory at Harvey Close despite the visitors leading 2-1 at half time after a brace from Lawrence Bosher which came either side of a goal from Gareth Boness.
But the Caldecote's Chris Winder and Barry Dellar made it 3-2 before Paul Beith netted a third for Dunton only to see Dan Wilson fire in the winner ten minutes from time.
For Oakley Sports it was a seventh successive away win as they beat Sharnbrook 3-2. John Searle put them ahead after ten minutes while Jack Hoogstraten levelled shortly afterwards.
The Sportsmen regained the lead on 43 minutes thanks to Ben Brown but David Miljkovic looked to have salvaged a point ten minutes from time only for Ollie Housden to head the visitors' winner five minutes later.
Elsewhere Biggleswade United Reserves moved above Renhold United into fifth spot by beeating them 4-2 on their own ground. Jack Gabbitas claimed hero status with a first half hat-trick with Paul Daniels replying. James Honeyman ensured United of the points with a fourth before Paul McKeaveney netted late on for Renhold.
Campton ran out 8-1 winners against Woburn despite the first 18 minute remaining goalless. But when Woburn lost the services of influential central defender Andy Skolsky with a suspected broken leg, the delay in the arrival of an ambulance meant the game was reduced to one of just 35 minutes each way and by half time Campton were 4-0 up with all the goals courtesy of Andrew Hayday.
Teammate Wayne Goldsmith added a fifth early in the new half before Hayday netted twice more for 7-0 before Jake Nicholls grabbed a consolation goal for the Safari Boys, Hayday then bagging his seventh goal of the shortened afternoon action for 8-1.
The scheduled game at Hillgrounds between AFC Kempston Town and Southill Alexander was also postponed due to the frozen pitch.
Division One
FLITWICK Town's Division One lead is up to seven points following their 2-0 home win over Marston Social and their sixth win on the bounce. The goals came from Mark Bartlett after 15 minutes and Martin Byrne five minutes from time.
Meltis Albion climbed above the non-playing Leighton United into second spot despite having to settle for a share the spoils in a
2-2 draw at Bedford Sports Athletic. The Cople-based hosts went ahead through Jonathan Woolf and Ashley Mead an led 2-0 until Albion struck back with a brace from Charlie Betts, one of which came from the penalty spot.
Henlow were 2-1 winners at Blunham Reserves. They were ahead at the break thanks to a Glen Clarke goal before being pegged back 20 minutes from time when Chris Dunne levelled. However Joe Fallono hit the winner two minutes later.
The day's other game Sandy and Kempston was postponed.
Centenary Cup
FC MEPPERSHALL will travel to face Henlow in a quarter-final of the Centenary Cup this week after a 2-1 Harvey Close over Caldecote Reserves.
Jack Boyd put the home side ahead on 15 minutes before a brace from Nico De Bries in the closing ten minutes of the opening half was enough to give Meppershall their win.
There was drama on The Green before Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves gained an 6-3 extra time win over Campton Reserves.
A hat-trick from Andy Fennell saw Campton lead 3-0 until a strike from Josh Faulkner two minutes from the break gave the hosts hope of a recovery.
And that recovery began after Tom Blow reduced the arrears before Justin Barker was sent off for a second yellow card offence.
Blow bagged a second goal for 3-3 which took the tie into an extra 30 minutes during which goals from Grant Humberstone, Faulkner and Dan Threadgold gave Ickwell the a 6-3 win and a trip to either Kempston Hammers Sports or Leighton United whose game was frozen off in the semis.
Stevington's Ian Woods, James Fletcher and Gavin White were all on the scoresheet against AFC Kempston Town Reserves whose two replies from Ryan Allison and Stuart Barnes as they ran out 3-2 winners to book a home quarter-final with Bedford Sports Athletic.
Division Two
LEADERS Bedford Hatters had their seven game winning run brought to an end when beaten 3-1 by Brache Sparta Community Reserves. Aiden Fletcher gave the visitors a first half lead before Richard Cook levelled for Hatters five minutes into the second half. But a brace from Edwin Anabarnonye saw a win for the visitors.
The Hatters lead was cut to just three points by Potton Wanderers were were 2-0 winners at Marabese Ceramics with goals from Jessie Mayo and Greg Instrell and also keeping the pressure up on Bedford are third in the table Marston Shelton Rovers. They retained their season's unbeaten home record and stretched their unbeaten ways to 13 games with a 3-0 home win over Great Barford, Xennon Paul, Lee Dudley and Charlie Standish hitting the second half goals.
An own goal plus a strike from Paul Roberts put Clifton 2-0 up against Elstow Abbey and a first home win of the season looked on the cards. But the visitors themselves without an away win had other ideals.
Dave McCarthy reduced the arrears before the break before adding another three in the second period to shoot his side 4-2 ahead, thus leaving Aiden MacDonald to place the icing on Abbey's cake with goal number five and a 5-2 win just two minutes from time.
Another club to come from behind and collect all three points were Harpur FC in a 3-2 home victory over Kempston Royals. Goals came from Lorenzo Jordan and Liam Boland saw Royals lead 2-0 at the break before second half strikes from Ricky Matthews, Cameron Browne and Dale Schaffer won the day for the home side.
For bottom of the table Shillington it was defeat number 12. They were beaten 7-2 at Kings AFC. Nathan Clements and Josh Clements both struck twice for the hosts alongside goals for Chris Greene, Rowan Hazelwood and an Ollie Plested penalty against Shills' replies from Lewis Osborn and Jonathan Ruffet.
The other scheduled game between Shefford Town and Arlesey Social Galacticos postponed due to a frozen pitch.
Division Four
SUNDON Park Rangers held onto their season's unbeaten home record and top spot with a narrow 3-2 win over Stewartby Village. Luke Evans struck twice and Paul Raymond once against a brace in reply from George Wheelhouse.
For second place Sharnbrook Reserves, things were a lot easier in a 7-0 away victory at Kempston Athletic, Jayme Harris netting a hat-trick to go alongside strikes from Chris Moore, Darren Wallinger, Stephen Smith and James Whitmore.
Eastcotts' five game unbeaten home run was brought to an end when defeated 4-2 by Flitwick Town Reserves. Harry Rowlands with a brace plus goals from Stuart Harvey and Grant Archer making it on The Town scoresheet against home replies via an own goal and Liam Parker.
For bottom of the table Bedford Park Rangers, it was away defeat number seven on the bounce when beaten 1-0 at Thurleigh. Ben Stock netting the goal to take the home side to the three points.
Watson Shield
LIDLINGTON United Sports were to ensure they will finish winners of Group Two and earn a home tie at the last 16 knock-out stage after netting a 4-2 win at Dunton Reserves. Joe Bradbury with two goals and one apiece for Scott Kent and Chris Roberts only being replied to by home strikes from John Fediw and Joe Burton.
In Group Four, M& DH Oakley also ensured themselves of a top spot qualification, thanks to an 4-2 home win over Queens Park Crescents.
Goals in the opening 24 minutes from Keiren McMahon, Dan Lupton and Nicolo Mattia saw them shoot 3-0 in front before Ayaz Hussain pulled a goal back for the visitors 20 minutes into the second period.
But Lupton with his second goal, eight minutes later taking the home side 4-1 ahead, only then to see Hussain reduce the arrears to 4-2, 15minutes from time.
The scheduled Group One game between Riseley Sports Reserves and Dinamo Flitwick being frozen off at Gold Street.
Bedfordshire FA Junior Cup
FOR the second weekend running, the weather ensured a postponement to Westoning Recreation Club Reserves home tie with Heath Panthers United.
