Hatch welcomes competition for places

Target man is comfortable with any of his potential strike partners

Important striker Liam Hatch has welcomed the fierce competition for place in Luton's attack.

The 27-year-old target man has been in fine form since recovering from his second ankle operation, netting in consecutive games against Ebbsfleet and Barrow.

But with Matthew Barnes-Homer, Tom Craddock and Mark Nwokeji all currently fit and pushing for places he admits they are all being kept on their toes.

He said: "You want to be under pressure all the time because you have to play to the best of your ability every game."

And he believes all of his potential partners have interchangeable skills, saying: "I think they are pretty similar as players. They like to get in behind and run with the ball. Their workrate helps me out."

Speaking ahead of the game against Oxford, he added: "We've got a big game next game, but it's only the next game.

"We are looking to get up the league as high as we can and kick on from there."
