Lidlington CC (50-6) beat Soulbury Village CC (48) by four wickets in a one-sided top of the table clash.

Lidlington won the toss and put Soulbury into bat on a fast wicket.

Soulbury reached 25 before the first wicket fell to Mike Eames and the collapse started.

The introduction of Nadeem Ahmed into the bowling attack saw Soulbury struggle from 45-4 to 48 all out, with a hat-trick for Ahmed and a spell of six wickets in nine balls.

Ahmed finished with figures of 6-4 from three overs with two maidens included.

Eames assisted with 2-21 and Dave Whitfireld took 2-5 in 2.5 overs.

In reply Lidlington got off to a poor start, losing Steve Swann and John Richardson at 21-2 before the rain came down.

After a lengthy stoppage play resumed on a wet pitch and Lidlington soon lost Jake Hiscocks (10) before Ahmed(10 no) steadied the ship and steered Lidlington home for their sixth successive win and consolidated their position at the top of Division Six.
