Fullen claims gold at duathlon competition

Having only competed in her first duathlon earlier this year, Gill Fullen from Thurleigh claimed her first gold at the ITU World Championship in France.

Competing in the 45-49 age section of the weekend’s championships, she finished the 10km run, 40km bike and 5km run in a time of 2.06.18hrs, faster than any other British age group lady and winning her section by a clear four minutes.

Fullen was thrilled to overcome the competition from Germany and the US and it comes as a real confidence boost before she travels out to Hawaii next week to take part in the Ironman Triathlon World Championships on Saturday.
