Town boss hopes Ainge makes the step up

As expected, defender Simon Ainge made his loan move from Blue Square Bet North AFC Guiseley to Luton permanent last week, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 24-year-old has made 15 appearances since joining Town back in September, scoring twice, and has now signed a permanent deal after Luton paid an undisclosed fee.

Town boss Paul Buckle said: “I’m delighted with all the lads I’ve brought in. Some of the boys found it hard to find their feet and Simon by his own admission might say the same.

“It’s a step up for him and he’s got to keep working hard at his game. He’s not the finished article like a lot of the boys we’ve brought in.”
