Footy-mad youngsters from Bedford had a day to remember at a club’s promotion celebrations.
Brickhill Lower School Football Club were invited down to Brentford FC in recognition of the hard work they do to encourage kids to take up the sport.
The west London club had already won promotion to the Championship and the final match of the season was a celebration.
Club coach Steve Howe said: “We took nearly 90 kids and their families to Brentford FC and the kids did a guard of honour on the pitch at the start of the match.
“They went on the pitch at half time and took penalties in front of 12,000 football fans; they also met Brentford’s club captain Kevin O’Connor and had photos with him.”
The club provide FA approved coaching sessions in a safe and fun environment and work with Bedford Lower Schools to provide free sessions.
