Supreme take honours in a Premier showdown
SUNDAY LEAGUE: In the Premier Division clash between leaders Meltis Mexicans and London Road Supreme, the latter went top of the table with a 2-0 win.
Despite missing key players through injury, London Road set out their stall and rushed into a two-goal lead, both coming from Scott Joseph.
Elsewhere in the division, Haynes earned a welcome two points after beating Lawson Park Rangers 4-1 away from home.
Oakley and Atletico shared the points in their game after a 1-1 draw, which is not a disaster for Atletico as their rivals both lost points.
Atletico’s hopes are still very real as they have yet to lose a game while having a mathematical chance of pipping the Mexicans.
It was a hard, even match at Oakley where the hosts took the lead through Alex Woolston, but Atletico’s Craig Damon volleyed in the equaliser in the second half.
In the other Premier Division match, Queensmen beat bottom club Esquires 5-3 with goals from Liam McClurg, Steve Goodridge, Chris King, Carl Ramsey and finally Danny Hollis.
There was only one game played in Division One with Old Hastingsburians and Harrold & Carlton drawing 1-1, while in Division Two leaders Mowsbury Athletic beat Eagle Heating 3-1 and Renhold were surprisingly beaten 3-2 by Houghton Conquest.
