BEDFORD Town striker Drew Roberts has declared his immediate future to the club.

The forward, who is the Southern Premier League’s leading marksman with 28 goals to his name, has been interesting a number of clubs, but Eagles were delighted to announce this week he was staying at the Eyrie.

A club statement read: “Despite keen interest from Blue Square South high flyers Chelmsford City, Bedford Town FC are delighted to announce striker Drew Roberts has decided to stay with the Eagles.

“The club together with Ady Hall and his management team are committed to building a team capable of challenging for promotion and Drew Roberts is a key part of this process.”
