Eagles earn St Albans victory

St Albans City 1 Bedford Town 2

THE Eagles came away from Clarence Park with the points after beating St Albans City 2-1 in their Southern Premier League encounter this afternoon, writes Roger Worsley.

Bedford took the lead in the 21st minute through Josh Beech’s first strike of the season.

The Eagles faced a second half barrage from their hosts and it was no surprise when St Albans grabbed the equaliser when James Gray scored in the 74th minute.

Rather than capitulate, Bedford came back at their hosts and were rewarded with the winner 10 minutes from time as leading scorer Drew Roberts netted his 25th league goal of the season.
