The spotlight this weekend falls upon the semi-final ties in this season’s Bedfordshire FA Senior Trophy, where over at Harvey Close Caldecote play hosts to Molten South Midlands League side Ampthill Town.The Town are enjoying their best season for many years and currently sitting second in the SML division one table plus only recently exited the FA Vase at the last 32 stage, facts which suggest Caldecote will have to be at the top of their game if they are going to progress into the final. Kick off for this game being 2pm.
Elsewhere, there is a programme of five Premier division supported by Sportsform fixtures to enjoy. At Rectory Road, second place Shefford Town & Campton have a chance to climb to the top of the table when they defend their season’s unbeaten home ways when visited by a Flitwick Town side that recorded their first win on the road this season at Woburn last week. Whilst third place Bedford Hatters having been beaten just the once on their travels this season head for a Crawley Road showdown with bottom of the table Woburn where you would expected them to collect all three points
Over at Moggerhanger Playing Fields, the visitors to face hosts Blunham are Oakley Sports in a game that could go either way.Whilst at Hillgrounds, AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College look to end a three game losing home run when called upon by second from bottom of the table Dunton whose lone away win of the season came at bottom of the table Woburn.
The final fixture being at Jubilee Playing Fields, the venue for Wilshamstead’s home clash with Renhold United.The hosts looking for their third home win on the bounce against a United side that are now unbeaten in their last nine games.
With the division one promotion race now hotting up into a five club affair, four of them this weekend enjoy home advantage.At Cople Playing Fields, Bedford Sports Athletic receive a visit from an AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves side that have now lost their last six aways outings.Whilst on The Green, Ickwell & Old Warden will be defending their season’s unbeaten home ways when called upon by local rivals Henlow
At Marston Playing Fields, hosts Marston Shelton Rovers will be expected to retain their season’s unbeaten home record when they are visited by a Westoning side that has won just once on the road all season.Whilst at Bedford Road Recreation Ground, Sandy are visited by a Lea Sports PSG side who hit the road now unbeaten in their last five away outings.
The lone promotion hopefuls hitting the road are current league leaders Lidlington United Sports, for them now on an 11 game unbeaten run,it’s a visit to Chaul End Lane to face a Luton Boys side looking for their third home win on the bounce.
Other action comes at Miller Road, bottom of the table Meltis Albion searching out their first home win of the season against Caldecote Reserves and at King George VI Playing Fields where hosts Kings AFC look to stretch their unbeaten home ways to three games against FC Meppershall.
It’s D Day at the top of the division two standings with the clash between the leading two clubs, when at Stonefields second place AFC Turvey play hosts to Elstow Abbey. The visitors hitting the road still unbeaten in all competitions this season the slight favourites to collect the spoils.
For third place Bromham United, it’s a trip on the road to face Marabese Ceramics at their new home of Shuttleworth College. Whilst for fifth place Pavenham, now without an away win since mid-October it’s a trip to M & DH Oakley whose last home win also came as long ago as mid-October.
Over in Mowsbury Park, for Queens Park Crescents after last weekends beating at Shefford Town & Campton Reserves its a visit from Sundon Park Rangers.
Whilst at The Hollow, Potton United Reserves look for their third home win on the bounce against Clifton, they travel seeking revenge for their Jubilee Cup exit by The Royals at the same venue back in late December.
Elsewhere, Co-op Sports with just two home league defeats to their name this season should have another in the locker to see off bottom of the table Great Barford at Solway Road North.Whilst at The Luton Regional Sports Centre, Stopsley Park receive a visit from Shefford Town & Campton Reserves who look to take their unbeaten away ways up to three games.
In division three, its home action at Renhold Playing Fields for league leaders Renhold Village when they defend their season’s perfect home record against the visiting Westoning Reserves who have failed to win any of their last six away outings. Whilst second place Goldington look to take their unbeaten home run up to nine games when they host Eastcotts AFC in Mowsbury Park.
Still very much in the promotion race are Cranfield United Reserves and for them its home Crawley Road action against Royal Oak Kempston where another three points should be collected, a comment that also applies to Riseley Sports who head still unbeaten on the road this season to face second from bottom of the table Flitwick Town Reserves at Steppingley Road.
Sitting on the bottom of the table are Dunton Reserves, for them it’s a home outing at Horseshoes Close against Kempston Hammers Sports who travel looking for away win number three on the bounce as the home side seek to end a run of 10 consecutive defeats.
Other action comes at Stevington Playing Fields, the venue where hosts and promotion hopefuls Stevington look for home win number four on the bounce when Potton Town with just two defeats from their last eight outings come calling and at Wrest Park, where Sundon Park Rangers Colts go into home action against Wilshamstead Reserves.
The game of the day in division four comes at Keysoe Road with the clash between hosts and live championship contenders Thurleigh with league leaders Bedford Park Rangers.Thurleigh looking to repair the damage of their heavy defeat at Clifton Reserves last weekend in their quest for a seasons double over their visitors who have lost just once on the road all season.
For fellow championship contenders Marsh Leys,its home action at Cutler Hammer against Dinamo Flitwick.The Leys looking for their fifth home win on the bounce against a Dinamo side who have won just once on the road all season.
Over at Wootton Playing Fields, hosts Wootton Village are called upon by Caldecote A and at Digswell Playing Fields, hosts Shefford Town & Campton A look to return to winning ways to complete a season’s double over the visiting Sandy Reserves.
Other action comes in Hillgrounds, the venue where Kempston Athletic seek to take their unbeaten league ways up to three games when visited by Clifton Reserves and in Mowsbury Park, where Stewartby Village now on a six game unbeaten away run should collect the full three points from hosts Goldington Hammers. Whilst at The Bedford Hockey Centre, Bedford Panthers will be expecting to do the same against bottom of the table visitors Dunton A.
