Town did give starts to Solomon Taiwo and Dave Martin, both of whom are on the transfer list at Kenilworth Road, along with young pros Zane Banton, Ian Rees, Charlie Smith and Brett Longden.

Three trialists were handed a chance by Hatters too, one being Matt Fry, who begans his career at West Ham United.

The 23-year-old didn’t make a first team appearance for the Hammers, spending time at loan at Gillingham and Charlton Athletic.

On his release from Upton Park, Fry moved to Bradford City, before spells at Concord Rangers and Dartford until his return to Concord last season.

Kempston moved 2-0 in front before half time with goals from Ben Gallant and Scott Joseph.

Hatters hit back in the second half through young striker Ekene Amadi, but they couldn’t force an equaliser.
