Gleeson questions who made decision to release him

RELEASED right-back Dan Gleeson has questioned whether the decision to release him was purely down to new manager Paul Buckle, writes Mark Wood.

With Luton seemingly clearing the decks, Gleeson though could understand the call after an injury-ravaged season.

He said: “When the new gaffer came in he was very positive. He was keen to get me involved straight away, which seemed to be a good sign.

“But football does seem to kick you on the backside sometimes.

“Whether the decision to release me was solely his I beg to differ.

“I think other people at the football club who were brought in had their opinion and they come to the forefront in this situation.”
