The Eagles recorded another fantastic win in the league after beating high-flying Cirencester Town 3-1 at the Eyrie on Saturday to remain unbeaten and top of the Southern League Division One Central table with eight wins and two draws from their first 10 games.

Then on Tuesday they also made progress in the Bedfordshire Senior Cup with a convincing 5-0 away win at Spartan South Midlands Premier Division side Arlesey Town.

Saturday's win saw Louis Walsh bag a double before a late Ryan Blake penalty finally sealed the win for Lee Bircham’s side.

Bedford got off to an electric start to the game and they were peppering the Centurions' goal with chances and running the Cirencester defence ragged.

Soon enough, Bedford were rewarded for their pressure and got their goal on 13 minutes.

This came from some great work between Ryan Blake, Lynton Goss and Louis Walsh which saw the ball eventually fall to Walsh to calmly finish.

For the rest of the half, the game calmed down as the Eagles pressure simmered. The game lacked chances later in the half as it ended 1-0.

The start of the second half was the same as the first ended. It was quiet and the Eagles were still on top looking for a goal.

But in the 64th minute, Bedford got their goal. It was Walsh again after he robbed a Cirencester defender of the ball before finishing past the goalkeeper.

Two minutes later, Cirencester pulled one back, Felix Miles' sweet strike beating Mark Smith to put the Centurions straight back into the game.

However, with under five minutes to go the Eagles won a penalty.

This was after Jack Green was fouled in the box by Stuart Nelson.

Blake stepped up and scored his 10th goal of the season to finally clinch a hard-earned victory.

Walsh also put Bedford on their way on Tuesday night at Arlesey when he put away a 27th minute penalty after Hamzet Balogun had been fouled.

After the break Bedford took full charge and Alex Collard netted a far post header from a corner within three minutes of the restart.

Harry Crawford made it 3-0 on 54 minutes with a finish from 25 yards.

Louie Johnson then grabbed a brace inside two minutes as on 82 minutes he tucked away a right wing cross before finishing from outside the area soon afterwards.

Eagles boosted their ranks this week with the loan signing of 18-year-old defender Hamzat Balogun on a month long deal from Watford.
