Ampthill Town return to action on Saturday afternoon with a home tie against London Tigers in the FA Vase.

Town had no game last Saturday due to their elimination from the FA Cup earlier in the campaign.

They were due to visit Brimsdown last night in the SSML Division One Cup but their hosts’ ground remains unplayable and efforts came too late to switch the game to another venue.

Brimsdown are now being charged with an unfulfilled fixture and it will go down to a league ruling to decide their fate.

Town made an early exit from the Vase last year when Tring Athletic beat them 4-0 at home and they face SSML Premier Division rivals again when London Tigers are the visitors to Woburn Street on Saturday afternoon.

They drew with Tigers 1-1 twice last year and will be keen to end their run of four successive home defeats following their fine 3-0 win at Langford 10 days ago.

The winners of the tie will go on to face another SSML Premier Division club, Crawley Green, in October.

Town’s next league game is a rearranged home match with newcomers Broadfield United next Saturday.
