Ampthill Town begin their preparations for life in SSML Division One in earnest on Saturday when they kick off their pre-season programme.

Derwayne Stupple’s side suffered relegation after a three-year stay in the Premier Division and have some testing friendly matches.

They host Evo Stik side Potters Bar Town on Saturday followed by a home game on Saturday week against UCL Premier side Cogenhoe.

That is followed by away games at Newport Pagnell on Tuesday, July 28, Eynesbury on August 1 and Olney on Tuesday, August 4.

Town host Southall in their opening league match on Saturday, August 8 before another home game with newly promoted New Bradwell St Peter in midweek. The remainder of their opening fixtures are due out this weekend.

Ampthill will be hoping to get some good results and performances from their early games before they entertain fellow Div 1 side Risborough Rangers in the FA Cup on August 15.
The winners host Aylesbury two weeks later.

Training sessions have been well attended as the club bid to make a good start to recover their Premier status.
