Ampthill Town began their pre season schedule in great style when they won 5-1 at Tring Town on Saturday. They led the SSML newcomers 2-1 at the interval but added three more after the break to cap a fine performance.

Ampthill’s first half goals came from new signings Cameron Edwin and Jamie Cerminara who both finished off set piece moves.

Carl Ramsey added the third with a solo goal which was followed by an effort from his brother Arun before JoeMcCabe ended the scoring on his return to the squad after missing the latter part of last term with illness.

It was a solid display some new faces in the ranks. Jamie Cerminara was sharp after linking up from Marston while Kieron Brazier did well after moving from Wilstead, and Josh Burnapp slotted into defence after coming from Kempston Town.

Further signings may be added to the squad for Saturday’s trip to UCL side Cogenhoe before they go to Loughton Manor on Tuesday.
