Bedford Girls U18s recorded a thumping 14-1 victory over Bourne U18 as Tegan Carroll and Chelsea Hunter hit nine goals between them.

Carroll scored five times and Hunter notched four as the Bedford Girls produced a hugely impressive display.

Through some quick attacking football in the first half, the Bedford Girls entered the break with a commanding 5-1 lead.

Team coach Ryan Carbonero stressed to the girls that they needed to add even more intensity and tempo to their play and, to his delight, the team responded magnificently.

The second half saw players taking on their opposite numbers, taking risks, and getting their rewards as the Bedford Girls scored nine goals without reply.

Zoe Blake was named Girl of the Game for a near perfect performance, scoring the first goal, breaking up the opposition’s play on numerous occasions, and turning possession into attacks.

The goalscorers were Carroll (5), Hunter (4), Cyeanne Eaton (3), Blake and Ninette Tavares.

Elsewhere, Bedford Girls U11 enjoyed a good game with Westoning Youth as Katie Damon, Safa Miah and new signing Amber West found the net.

Bedford Girls U10 were in action against Leighton United Vixens in a league match, and they found the net through Amara Hobbs (2), Skye Muir (3) and Rabiah Zeb.
