Flitwick kids in Beds U13 team

Bedfordshire U13s were back in national county tournament action after a number of years out, and Flitwick had two players involved.

The side was made up of Sam McCoy (Flitwick), Muqaddam Khan (LDSC), Azahn Khan (LDSC), Alex Tentori (Flitwick) and Ben Swain (LDSC) and they enjoyed mixed results, winning one game and losing the other. Against Northants, Beds performed well to triumph 4-1.

First and second strings McCoy and Muqaddam were too strong for their opponents as they ran out easy winners. Azahn and Tentori had tougher matches at third and fourth strings, but played very well as they both eased to 3-1 victories.

Swain made his debut at fifth string and, although he did superbly to win the first game, he eventually lost 3-1.

Worcestershire then also beat Northants, before seeing off Beds.

Swain again fought hard at number five and did himself proud despite losing out 3-1. As with the first match, McCoy and Muqaddam were just too strong for their opponents and ran out comfortable 3-0 winners.

Both have played in the Bedfordshire men’s midweek league this year and at only 12 and 11 years old there is still room for plenty of improvement. Azahn and Tentori then had to secure one of their matches for Beds to top the group but, despite some excellent squash and effort, neither could do so as they both lost 3-1.
