Fifth for Stott and Baillie

editorial image

KAYAKING: Viking Kayak Club’s Etienne Stott and partner Tim Baillie came fith in the second of the ICF World Cup Series in Pau, France, at the weekend.

All three British boats had comfortably qualifed for the semi-finals, but only Stott and Baillie made it through to the canoe double (C2) final.

Having finished just outside the medals in fourth place last weekend, the duo were focused and determined to go one better. With a good start under their belts, Baillie and Stott clipped gate nine picking up a two-second penalty leaving them chasing their tail.

Unfortunately a couple of time losses on the latter part of the course left them hard pressed for a quick time, seeing them finish in fifth.
