League defeats for United, Rokermen, Reds and Potton

Biggleswade Town breezed past Newmarket Town in this afternoon's FA Cup preliminary round tie with Peter Barnes bagging a hat-trick in a 5-1 win.

Barnes put the Waders ahead on three minutes while Lee Harman netted a second in the ninth minute before Barnes made it 3-0 with just 14 minutes on the watch.

Olive pulled one back for the Jockeys in the 17th minute but Barnes went on to complete his hat-trick midway through the second half while Jonathan Woolf made it a nap hand at 5-1 two minutes from time in front of just 83 spectators.

Arlesey Town came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against last season's Spartan South Midlands League champions Aylesbury Unted in the preliminary round of the FA Cup at the Armadillo Stadium this afternoon.

The visitors went ahead through Kyeremen nine minutes after the interval while it was Harry Hunt who levelled with 20 minutes left to the delight of the 135 spectators.

In the Spartan South Midlands League, a depleted Biggleswade United side crashed 4-0 at home to Leverstock Green who started the afternoon eight placed below them in the Premier Division table.

The Green were 3-0 up at the break with all three coming in an 11 minute spell starting in the 31st minute when Lee Stobbs drilled an angled shot past Kevin Lane in the United goal.

Four minutes later Charlie Gorman smashed home a great individual goal before Andrew Cracknell made it 3-0 in the 42nd minute.

After the break United played a little better but Louis Austin made it 4-0 in the 63rd minute while Leverstock substitute Steve Hutchins blasted an 85th minute penalty kick the wrong side of Lane's upright.

Loney then made a fine reflex save to keep out a Daniel Drane header from a ScottQuinney cross.

In the end to end action, Drane then curled a shot narrowly wide while Beeney made a full length save to thwart Furness.

Quinney's freekick brought out the bestin Loney before Huntingdon went in front seven minutes before the break. Jon Gull was the proivider forAdam Lacey to curl ashot intothe top corner from the edge of thebox.
