Steppingley teenager James Elliott reached the second round of the AEGON British Tour event in Nottingham last week.

After beating Sam Price in the opening round, Elliott then faced GB number five Dan Evans and put up a fine performance to go down 6-1, 6-2, having chances to break serve in each set, but couldn’t convert the winning point. Evans went on to win the tournament, while Elliott earned 300 ranking points and is now the 79th best male player in Britain.

The 17-year-old is now playing in the Sanches Casal Junior ITF tournament in Spain.
