EAGLES: Resilience the key says Howarth

Bedford Town boss reflects on last night's 2-2 home draw with Zamaretto Premier leaders Farnborough

Finding some much needed resilience is the key reason behind two excellent results.

That is the view of Eagles manager Lee Howarth after his side held runaway league leaders Farnborough at the Eyrie on Tuesday night.

It followed on from Saturday's equally impressive draw with Halesowen.

Speaking after the draw with Farnborough, Howarth told the Times & Citizen: "We did brilliantly under pressure in both games and against Farnborough in particular, we had lads in the team earning virtually nothing against players who are earning hundreds and hundreds of pounds a week.

"I think we've shown tremendous spirit and determination in what were two magnificent performances and I'm very proud of them.

"When you have setbacks as we have this season, there are two ways the team can react.

"The last couple of performances were unrecognisable from the one at Hemel Hempstead on Boxing Day when we were heavily beaten so, hopefully, we've started to find a little bit of resilience now."
