Dunstable through to semis

U18s come back to beat Hillingdon borough

Dunstable Town's U18 team progressed to the semi-finals of the Hitching Cup with a 2-1 triumph at Hillingdon Borough.

The Blues had to come from behind after Chris Doggett had lost possession and Borough seized on the mistake to take a fifth minute lead.

Dunstable dominated in response, equalising on 25 minutes when Jake Bewley's cross was smartly met on the volley by Dan Wills.

Bewley hit the crossbar in the next attack, and Borough squandered a gifted chance to snatch a lead against the run of play.

Stuart Freeman in the Borough goal kept his side in the game with a succession of great saves, but he could do little about Aidan Murray's fine shot on 31 minutes, which proved to be decisive.

The Blues finished the half firmly in control, but had to battle against the wind in the second half. Both sides created an abundance of chances but neither side could find the net as Town progressed into the next round.
